WISH Indianapolis on WDHC-LD Dickson

- Posted October 19th, 2023 at 12:42am
Okay, I just don't get this one. WISH; a CW affiliated station up there in Indianapolis, IN; will be broadcasting on WDHC-LD down here in the Dickson area. Huh? I am just going to link the article below, and you can tell me what you all think in the comments section below.

I don't understand or see why they can do that when Nashville has its own CW affiliate. Something weird is going on with that.

Very interesting. I live in Dickson and do not receive WDHC on any of my TV's. Mainly due to the location of their tower; which is north of where I live. To receive the Nashville Stations (with exception of WNPT) my antenna must be directed to the North East.

Hey, brookskc. Since you live in the area, please let me know if you see anything on Nov. 1st when they should start showing WISH. Thank you.

I can't even receive 11.1. I have a TV in a bedroom with inside antenna point to the North and I cannot receive the station. Yet the same antenna receives all Nashville Stations (except 8.1). Will keep you updated.

Since WDHC actually broadcasts on channel 6, a lo-VHF channel, I don't know what type of inside antenna you have, but it may not be capable of receiving lo-VHF. What you need is something that resembles (or are) a pair of rabbit ears stretched out laying them flat. I will be trying to make contact with Mr. Forte and see if I can get some answers. The article says WISH doesn't start until Nov. 1st. So, wait and see if something happens between now and then. Keep me updated.

I have a flat antenna (8x12??) bought at Lowes. Also, I've attached a booster to the cable between the antenna and tv. If you enter Oak Ave or Oak Dr into the FCC channel locater you will notice that the antenna when directed toward North Nashville is not in align with WDHC tower. Also compare with Rabbit Ears. Will stay in touch.

Have you been able to receive WDHC yet? I was just wanting to know if WISH is actually on there.

I've never seen this happen before. Looks like WZTV would be up in arms about this - don't they hold the CW in this market? Why would folks in middle TN care what's happening locally in Indianapolis?

So we have WZTV, and if you have a high enough outdoor antenna, WBXX (CW). But they want to add a totally out-of-market station to LP in Tennessee? Crazy. I can even get CW on WHNT from Huntsville.

And people in Northern Tennessee, get CW out of Bowling Green WBKO 13, I'm with y'all you think the local CW stations would like one from Indianapolis to be on there

Totally wackadoodle. Why would anyone want to watch Indianapolis news in Tennessee? And as others have said here, we already have a CW station.

The second paragraph of the website says more than 84 weekly hours of WISH news and programing a week. That figures to about 10 hours per day. I'm guessing it will be their local programing and not the CW programing though I can't see why anyone in Middle Tennessee would care about Indianaoplis news.

Mr. Forte’s wife (who is also a co-owner) is a Dickson native. Looks like they’re trying to break into the Nashville TV market a la Byron Allen.

By the way, that is the old website. The new website is at https://wdhc-tv11.com/ It broadcasts on RF 6, but because of WRTN already using the number 6 as their virtual, or display, channel, WDHC had to use another virtual channel. So, they went with 11. They are, right now, suppose to be airing 11.1 Heartland network and 11.2 The Action channel.

WISH's website shows "WISH-TV adds WDHC-LD as news affiliate". It also says that WISH news 8 it's expanding its reach to the Chicago, Louisville, Nashville, South Bend/Elkhart and Fort Wayne markets. It looks to me that it will be Indiana news that will be broadcast. https://www.wishtv.com/community/wish-tv-adds-wdhc-ld-in-dickson-nashville-as-news-affiliate/

Thank you for that information. I didn't think to look on WISH's website. I thought they wouldn't have any information on their website. Anyways, I would understand the other cities because they are either in Indiana or near the Indiana border, but the Nashville area is a whole other state away from Indiana. I "wish" 😂 I was able to receive WDHC so that I can see it for myself, but I'm too far away.

I receive the station on Roku and they are still broadcasting Heartland
